Hi, I’m Mat, the owner and founder of Go Ski Meribel.

I’m involved in every aspect of the business – from your first enquiry through to welcoming you at one of our fabulous chalets, you will be dealing with me personally. I have lived in the area full time since 2017 and spent every winter in Meribel for the 9 years prior to moving here permanently.

I will always be around on hand to offer advice or answer any questions, join you on the slopes to show you the best skiing in Meribel, or recommend the best apres venue.

The Three Valleys ski area is the biggest and, in my opinion, the best in the world and I will be more than happy to advise you on the best places to ski or snowboard, eat, drink and anything else to make the most of your holiday. Experience the best of our owner chalets.

Before Go Ski Meribel...

From leaving school in Sheffield at 16, I had a 21-year stint in the ‘real world’ with a career in finance starting off in Sheffield and to eventually living in London for 15 years. Like everyone, I really enjoyed my holidays – particularly the winter ones, fortunately I had always managed to take took two to three weeks to go skiing every year. From that I somehow, I ended up organising all of these trips for my group of friends in catered chalets to destinations all over the Alps. Even though we all enjoyed the holidays, I always felt there were certain aspects of the holiday that could be improved. I knew exactly what skiers and snowboarders want from their holidays – you’ve got 7 days on the snow and you want to spend as much of that time on the mountain as possible without having to think about all the add-ons like airport transfers, equipment hire, lift passes etc.

So, an idea was born and with a little encouragement from “er indoor”(and a fair bit of discouragement from friends and family who thought I was having a mid-life crisis) I sold the flat, sold the car, left my job and Go Ski Meribel was born, all in the middle of the 2008/09 recession.

That was 16 winters ago and I’m enjoying it more and more every year. It’s always great seeing people having a great time in our Meribel owner chalets, but, we are constantly looking for ways to improve our services.

With more than 8,500 happy guests under our belts over the past 16 winter seasons, we must be doing something good!
